Occasionally and enough to be very annoyed, my iPhone 6 has been freezing up on me while i am typing. The only way to fix it has been to shut down and restart, is anyone else having this problem? Do you know if the problem is being addressed. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thank you.

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
then a reset (pressing Home & Sleep/Wake button till the Apple Logo appears.)

I have same problem. Reset of dictionary does not help.
